Our Roman Shade Systems

Corded Roman Shade (back side of shade)

Corded Roman shades- pricing starts at $85 each

*Please be advised that as of June 1, 2024, any corded system, from ANY workroom or store, irregardless of their construction method, is not compliant with the Window Covering Association’s voluntary standards rule, in regards to child safety. Before this date, custom workrooms were still allowed to produce corded roman shades. But according to the new ruling, it is strongly advised to purchase our continuous cord shades or cordless shades option especially if you have young children or babies in the home, as the corded shades can be a choking hazard.

Our most affordable Option and the sleekest/most minimal hardware/design on top. They operate much like standard blinds. The cord runs behind the shade and you operate the shade by pulling on the cord on back side of shade and it locks into place. Easy to install by drilling 2 screws through the wood and into your casing or wall/trim. Most people select this option. Pricing starts at $85 per shade for labor. The cords used to pull the shade up and down run along the back and if you'd like to hide them when the shade is up, you can simply tuck the cords into one of the back folds so you do not see the cords. The shade is attached to a wooden board on top and the board is about 1 1/2" deep for inside mount and 3/4" deep for outside mount. Corded can be inside or outside mounted.

Continuous Cord Roman Shade (back of shade shown)

Continuous chain roman shades- pricing starts at $135 each

This system has a clutch/aluminum tube roller on top. The wood is about 1 3/4” deep. The shade operates by pulling on the chain that runs down one side on the back. We can provide steel/silver chain or white plastic and possibly other colors. This option will start at $135 per shade for labor. This can be used for inside or outside mount shade, but keep in mind, it will be a bit of a larger projection for the outside mounted shades than corded and the sides don’t have a return. This chain system is considered a child safe option under the Windows Association and voluntary standards guidelines.

  • Low profile non-obtrusive mounting clips

  • This can be used for inside or outside mount shade, but keep in mind, it will be a bit of a larger projection for the outside mounted shades than corded and the sides don’t have a return.

Corded Roman Shades, back of shade

Cordless - pricing starts at $185 each

Cordless- Similar to the continuous chain system. Uses a aluminum roller. The board on top is about 1 3/4" deep for our Rollease system. The shade operates by pulling on a knob that is located on the backside/ bottom of the shade. It stops at the different positions by pulling on the knob to lock it into place. You can make adjustments to the tension and stop positions. This is a bit tricker to install and adjust than our corded and continuous chain. The bracket on the side is white metal. If doing inside mount cordless, you should not see any hardware when installed. If doing outside mount cordless shades, you would see the white brackets from the side view, as we have no side returns on those. We recommend doing corded if your shade is outside mounted. For inside mounted shades, either corded or cordless work well.

This cordless system is considered a child safe option under the Windows Association and voluntary standards guidelines.

How our cordless roman shades operate

rod pocket and faux/stationary- pricing starts at $85 each

We also offer rod pocket corded shades and faux shades (no cords at all, shades just for looks). The rod pocket shades operate just like the corded shade, by pulling on the cord on the back side. They just have a pocket added on top of the wooden board, so you do not have to drill these shades into your wall or casing. They simply slide into your rod pocket like a curtain but they are fully functional shades. We also offer Faux shades. Faux shades have no cords at all, and are are great if you want the look of a roman shade but do not need them to function.
