Sew Lovely products are custom made and do take many hours to produce to your custom size, so all products are non-refundable.  Upon ordering, you will sign a purchase agreement/contract that states this policy, as well. Fabric sales on our website are also non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

We hope your enjoy your purchase and strive to make it just perfect for you!   If for any reason you are not satisfied, please contact us first so we can come up with a resolution. We will gladly fix any issues you may have and address concerns right away.  

FOR DEFECTS THAT ARE THE FAULT OF SEW LOVELY

We make about 3000 shades per year. While it is pretty rare for us to make an error, we’re human and these are handmade, so there have been rare instances there is a mistake on our part. We do not provide a refund for mistakes on our part because we can about 99% of the time, fix the error easily and very quickly without ruining the main fabric. We’d prefer you have a shade that you are completely happy with, than keep a damaged item. If we determine the shade cannot be fixed when you notify us about the error, we will refund you, but this is rarely the case, as we can usually fix the item. The shades all have 8” more of width in the side hems and extra length, as well, so we are able to adjust the size and shape pretty easily but taking out hems and adjusting the shade on the board, if need be. We’ve designed the shades so that it can be adjusted without damaging the face fabric. For any defects that are the fault of Sew Lovely, we will make the fixes and repairs free of charge and pay for shipping, there and back and we make sure the shade is priority and shipped back quickly. No credits will be given unless we receive the shades back to us to fix to see what is going on.  

DEFECTS OR MISTAKES DUE TO CUSTOMER’S ERROR

For issues that are a result of the customer's error (didn’t follow fabric choice recommendations or customer providing the wrong sizing info. wrong fabric sent etc) the shades will be fixed at the cost of the customer.  If the customer would like new shades made, we try to discount the price a little of the new shades. Fixing the shades is usually more labor and might cost more than making a new shade, because we have to take the shade all apart and also you’d pay shipping costs to ship it back to us. So sometimes it is worth it to have a new shade made from scratch, rather than repair the shade.

Please hang your shades before concluduing that there is any issue, as some times it might be something else going on.  You may also email us to ask us about any concerns or questions you may have before hanging them up. These are handmade, so there may be times when there is a staple seen in the back of the shade or fabric might not be tucked exactly the same way on each side in the back etc.  Once the shade is hung, these things are NOT visible from the front and it does not affect the security of the shade what-so-ever, or the beauty of the shade.  We always strive to make the shades as perfect as possible but since they are handmade, there could be some very minor cosmetic differences with every shade we make and it doesn't affect the appearance or function.  If, in the future, there is an issue with a part breaking, we can usually easily replace the part, free of charge.

If there is a rare issue at all with a shade being “crooked” we would need to see it hanging up (not just on the floor or table) but actually installed. This is the only way we can for sure determine the issue and offer a solution.

Since the custom orders do take a long time to make, there will be no refunds if a shade issue can be fixed. Most shades CAN be easily tweaked within one day. Original shipping and fabric charges will not be considered as part of the refund.  Please contact us within 10 days if you have any issues.  Refunds or re-dos will not be considered after this time period. We will confirm your measurements with you before we sew your shades, so please make sure your measurements are accurate. Please make sure your custom order looks ok and measurements are accurate in the order I created for you.  We won't be able to refund you if ,for some reason, you change your mind on your final measurements once I started to already sew your shades.  If you gave us the wrong measurements, initially,  we can fix the shades to the corrected measurement but there will be a charge.  Also please make sure to send us the correct yardage that we gave you for your shades.  Seller is not responsible for any imperfections in fabric that is sent to us, or too little fabric sent. Please check your fabric before sending . If for some reason, there is a major imperfection in the fabric you sent us, we will notify you before we sew them but small imperfections in fabric will be used.  Also some fabric doesn't work well for roman shades. Burlap , velvets, heavy upholstery fabric, silks and very light fabric or fabric that frays won't work well and will look different from the photos on my site.
